Are you interested in hosting a Girls Shopping Party Night to raise funds for Myotubular Trust? The Trust has been given an exclusive offer to sell some beautiful, high-quality, high-fashion clothes and accessories, at hugely discounted prices; to raise money to help further research into Myotubular / Centronuclear Myopathy. The high street fashion store has offered the Trust all their mail order 'returns' which are mostly this season and in excellent quality. The opportunity has arisen because one of the main directors of the company is a parent of a child affected by Myotubular Myopathy. Here are the details: The good quality clothes and accessories are particularly aimed at the brand's niche market which they describe as 16 - 26 year olds, but very much appealing to today's sexy and fashion conscious woman. The majority of clothing will be size 10 but different sizes will be sent if and when they are available. Amazing handbags and accessories are also available. It's entirely up to you how, where and when to have a party, but to help you, here are 8 easy steps on how to host your own Girls Shopping Party. 1. Planning the Party Decide on all the details of your clothing party: for example, who you want to invite, the date, time and a venue for your party, f you want to serve food or simply wine and nibbles. Why not encourage a couple friends to become involved to help make these decisions easier and to extend the guest list; help sort out the stock; sell on the night; serve drinks and snacks or even model some of the clothes and accessories? 2. Delivery of Stock. Once you have decided the detail of your party, please email the Myotubular Trust to advise:
3. Advertising Your Party Invitations, posters and stickers can be obtained from the Myotubular Trust. 4. Encouraging Participation It is helpful to sell tickets in advance for £5 or £10, especially if you are thinking of supplying food and wine. However, if you think you will raise more money by having an 'open doors' party, please do not feel that you have to sell tickets. 5. For the Fun of It When you receive your stock, you may wish to keep aside 'one special' item such as a handbag, for a raffle prize or auction. To enter the raffle, the ticketholder simply writes their name and telephone number on the back of their ticket and hands it into you on the night, to be entered into the raffle. Please remember to include the time of the raffle draw on the ticket. If you're hosting a non-ticket event, a book of raffle tickets or even small pieces of paper will do the job. 6. Showing Off Hangers and rails will show off the clothes nicely and help sell them especially if you put together some combinations. Alternatively, you may wish to hold a fashion show. You may need to allocate a room in your house or venue for trying on - having a full length mirror available would also be useful. 7. Girls Shopping Frenzy The clothes (mixed sizes 6 - 14 but predominantly size 10) will already have been separated into boxes of type for you: trousers, skirts, tops, coats, bags and belts. The items also come with price guidelines and stickers for your use but please feel free to make your own judgments too, and adjust the price up or down accordingly. Every penny helps. 8. After the Party Cheques for clothing can be accepted, crossed and made payable to 'Myotubular Trust'. After the Party, please convert any cash to one big cheque made payable to 'Myotubular Trust' and send to: James Rosling, Treasurer, Myotubular Trust c/o Chalkdell Management Accountants, 15a Barnard Road, London, SW11 1QT or donate directly into the Myotubular Trust CAF bank account. If you do pay in online, don't forget to gift aid your donation, this way the Trust can claim back an additional 28p for every £1 donated by your guests, from the taxman, at no extra cost. Important: Unfortunately, neither the Trust, nor the supplier can accept returns or refunds, other than at your discretion on the night. To avoid any embarrassment, please encourage your guests to try on the clothes at the party. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Melanie Spring.
