Joseph Patrick Trust

The Joseph Patrick Trust is the welfare fund of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and gives grants towards equipment and one off discretionary payments for items such as wheelchairs, trikes, scooters, computers and vehicle adaptation.

In the United States, the Muscular Dystrophy Association can help with the purchase of leg braces, manual and electric wheelchairs and augmentative communication devices. They also have a loan closet from which people can check out other types of equipment.

 

BDF Newlife

BDF Child and Family Grants exist to help children and families who are significantly affected by an inborn condition (birth defect / congenital abnormality). The child and family should live permanently in the UK and the child must be under 18 years old at the time of application. The grants may help by providing funds in full or part for the purchase of equipment which is specifically related to the care or needs of the child / family where other sources of funding are not available or significant delay will cause worsening or deterioration of a childs condition / welfare.

Family Fund

Family Fund is a registered charity covering the whole of the UK and is funded by the national governments of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Family Fund provides grants to families with severely disabled children, based on families' views and needs.

 

Queen Elizabeth's Fund for the Disabled (QEF)

Works with people living with physical and learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries to gain new skills and increase independence. Whether it's learning everyday life skills, rebuilding a life affected by brain injury, acquiring the skills to drive a specially adapted car or training for future employment QEF supports disabled people to achieve goals for life.

 

Snowdon Award Scheme

The Snowdon Award Scheme is a charity that provides grants to students with physical or sensory disability, to help them complete further or higher education or training.

 

Whizz Kids

Whizz Kids is a UK charity that provides disabled children with customised mobility equipment, training and advice, giving them the independence to live a life of freedom.
